My name is Yuwei Wu. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT, # LF61048793) in Washington State. I am also an EMDR clinician. I identify as person of color, and an ally for people or groups "deviating from the social norm." My cross-cultural experiences have help me foster bi-cultural identity, cultivate critical thinking ability, and develop unique perspectives and effective strategies in addressing clinical issues. I offer therapy in English and Chinese Mandarin.

I believe in equity and social justice in mental health. This has drawn me to be an agent of change to promote systemic transformation with compassion and integrity. I have witnessed the unbearable cost of oppressing emotional needs for the sake of socially accepted achievements and fitting in with social norms. As a therapist, I support people to create a relational balance and harmony with self, others, and surrounding elements, and reach the ultimate liberation of self–to be at peace with who you are and enjoy life.

Style
Style
I will work with you in creating a safe therapeutic space to help you bring new possibilities into your life. I view each of us as more than our mental health concerns. My style is direct with validation, genuine care and wholehearted compassion. Besides being creative and playful, one of my strengths is being firm and consistent with gentle guidance, warmness, and flexibility. I also help to set healthy boundaries, develop emotional regulation skills and engage in positive behaviors. I bring authenticity, integrity, transparency and collaboration in session and hold you and myself accountable in recovery journeys. I use a beginner’s mind to meet you where you are and do not make assumptions. I trust your expertise in your life, while offering resources and psychoeducation as needed to help improve your understanding, acceptance, and mastery of difficult situations.
